Americký časopis Living Blues zverejnil vo svojom 232. čísle výsledky svojej 21. výročnej ankety Living Blues Awards 2014.
Anketa bola rozdelená na dve časti. Jednu jej časť tvorili hlasy čitateľov a druhú zasa odborných kritikov.
Pokiaľ čitatelia-fanúšikovia favorizovali Buddy Guya, ktorý vďaka ich hlasom získal titul Bluesového umelca roka, Bluesového speváka, Najlepšieho gitaristu a jeho platňa Rhythm & Blues bola vyhlásená za Najlepší bluesový album roka, odborníci dali prednosť James Cottonovi. Legendárny harmonikár si v tomto roku odniesol od kritiky prvenstvo v kategóriách Bluesový umelec roka, Najvynikajúcejší hudobník a jeho album Cotton Mouth Man získal titul Album roka. Názory fanúšikov a kritikov sa líšili aj v ďalších kategóriách. Zaujímavé, že pokiaľ čitateľská anketa mala 11 kategórií, odborníci dostali možnosť hlasovať až v 24 kategóriách, medzi ktorými boli aj také špeciálne ako „Umelec zasluhujúci si viac pozornosti“ a pod. Anketa ponúka celkom zaujímavý pohľad na americkú bluesovú scénu, preto vám ponúkame kompletné výsledky oboch hlasovaní – čitateľov i kritikov.
A okrem toho ešte pripomínam všetkým „frfľošom“, ktorým sa zdal počet účastníkov výročnej ankety nášho portálu Blues Music malý, že prestížnej ankety časopisu Living Blues v USA sa zúčastnilo ani nie 6000 ľudí a redakcia to pokladá za neobyčajne veľký úspech.
